Training Centre
Perhaps you're interested in the position of Technology Operator, but you don't know what such a position in the chemical industry entails and whether you can handle it? Don't have a chemistry degree and are therefore afraid of working in the chemical industry? Perhaps you know nothing about chemical processing equipment and chemical processes?
If you are asking yourself similar questions, we have good news for you. In our Training Centre, experienced lecturers and trainers are waiting for you, under whose guidance you will undergo a three-month theoretical and practical training that will prepare you perfectly for the position of Technology Operator. You can see the job description in the video below (video or link).
Theoretical preparation
Your training as a Technology Operator will begin in the classroom, where you will first be introduced to the principles of occupational health and safety (OHS), process safety, fire protection, and environmental protection. You will also gain the basic technical knowledge required for your future work in the following areas: pipelines and valves, technological and mechanical equipment, measurement and control, control systems, basic technological processes, and a brief introduction to the individual plants on the ORLEN Unipetrol site in Litvínov.
Multiskilling – Minor maintenance
This station in the Training Centre is used for teaching and practical training of operator skills and provides a deeper understanding of how some of the types of valves, machines, and technological equipment discussed in the theoretical training work. We have 3D sections and other tools to help you learn and understand the technicalities that every Technology Operator needs to know.
Practice unit
Before we put you into actual operation, you will complete professional practice in our Training Unit, where you will apply the acquired theoretical knowledge. Here you will learn how to start, operate, and shut down simple technology under the guidance of our trainers. You will also learn how to control the technology from the control system in the control room. This experience will give you the opportunity to try out the work of a Technology Operator and get a realistic idea of your future employment.
Distillation unit
This station is connected to the Training Unit. This is where you will learn about the more complex technology of hydrocarbon distillation in atmospheric and vacuum columns. You will again learn how to drive, operate, descend, and operate this technology from the control room, plus you will monitor the quality of production, which you will verify by taking a sample and analysing it on the chromatograph. This hands-on training will allow you to get closer to real production and processes on the production units.
OTS (Operator Training Simulator)
This site is a simulator of a real DCPD (dicyclopentadiene) production unit located at ORLEN Unipetrol in Litvínov. Here you will try out the simulation of the control of this unit and learn patience in stabilising the production parameters. After completing this station, you will be prepared for the job of Technology Operator and will be placed in a real production plant, where you will subsequently acquire other required competencies.
